Hey Cats,
Today we'll do test corrections from the unit test yesterday. If you scored above a 53 (C) on the test, you do not have to do them. Learning Target: Scientists will make corrections to the unit test from yestereday. Upcoming: New unit on genetics this Monday. If you missed class today: You need to sign up for seminar if test corrections apply to you.

Hey Cats!
It's the unit final today. Crush it. Learning Target: Scientists will apply knowledge of cell reproduction on a unit final exam. Upcoming: Test corrections Friday 2/21, new unit on genetics 2/24 If you missed class today: Sign up for seminar to take the unit final next week. Hey Cats!
I hope you all had a great three day weekend. Now, let's get down to business. Today we'll do a bit of review for the final together, and then the rest of the time is yours to prepare for the unit final for block day. Please, keep in mind, that NO late work will be accepted after the test. Today and the day of the test is the last day I'll accept late work. Learning Target: Scientists will review for the cell reproduction unit final exam. Upcoming: Unit final exam block days. If you missed class today: Prepare for the unit final for block day. Happy Friday!
Today we'll complete our last practice for this unit on mitosis by completing the POGIL. Let me know when you're finished so I can give you the points. After that I have a very helpful cell cycle review. Work together, work hard. Let's crush it. Learning Target: Scientists will be able to identify and describe the events of mitosis and cytokinesis. Upcoming: Unit final exam 2/18-2/19 If you missed class today: See me for the POGIL and cell cycle review. Hey Cats, We're on our last topic in our cell reproduction unit: mitosis. Remember to get all late or missing work handed in BEFORE the unit test. No late work will be accepted for the unit after the test. Just sayin'... Learning Target: Scientists will be able to draw and describe mitosis. Upcoming: Unit test next week on 2/18-2/19 If you missed class today: See me for the note catcher and watch the video link below. Hey Cats!
Today we're going to do community additions over the work from last Friday, turn in some work from yesterday and then take ticket-out #4 on central dogma. We have a full day, let's crush it. Learning Target: Scientists will be able to describe the events of central dogma. Upcoming: Unit final exam on 2/18-2/19 If you missed class today: Sign up for seminar to take the ticket-out. Hey Cats! Happy Friday! Today we'll complete BOTH digital labs and also dive into practice #3 on Central Dogma (protein synthesis). Whatever is not completed today will be due as homework on Monday where we'll do community additions on practice #3. Learning Target: Scientists will be able to analyze the process of central dogma in digital labs and also apply that knowledge in practice #3. Upcoming: Ticket-out #4 on central dogma this Tuesday. Unit final exam on 2/18-2/19. If you missed class today: Both digital labs were graded and checked. You need to see me to get practice #3. Hey All!
You all did a great job yesterday on the input for protein synthesis. Now, let's practice those ideas. During block days and Friday you will do two digital labs. The first will be on transcription and the other on translation. Follow each note catcher and read the screen for each step EXACTLY. If not,k you will need to start each interactive from the start again. Crush it. Learning Target: Scientists will be able to describe how a gene on DNA is copied to make a message for a protein. Upcoming: Unit final exam 2/18-2/19 If you missed class today: You need to see me to get a copy of the note catcher and then access the digital labs on a computer (at home, school or the library). Hey All!
We have a four day week ahead and a full schedule every day. Today marks our adventures looking into G2. The event in G2 of our focus is called "Central Dogma" or protein synthesis. They're the same thing. Let's dive into an input to get a foundation for understanding. Learning Target: Scientists will be obtain background knowledge on protein synthesis by identifying key terms and concepts in an input. Upcoming: Unit final exam 2/18-2/19. If you missed class today: Check out the link below for the input and get note catchers from me during school. Hey Cats!
Happy Friday! You made it through another week... Today we'll start by reviewing our practice on DNA replication. After that, we'll do ticket-out #3 on DNA replication. Finally, to end we'll dive into just a few notes on the events that occur in G2 of the cell cycle. Learning Target: Scientists will be able to describe the process of DNA replication in S-phase of the cell cycle. Upcoming: G2 of the cell cycle (central dogma). If you missed class today: I collected the practice on drawing DNA replication. We also did a ticket-out on DNA synthesis (ticket out #3). |
